Bruised knee?

I fell a week ago on concrete and I fell directly on my knees. They are all scraped up but it's scabbed now. My right knee has been killing me since. It feels so sore and achy, and it's bruised still. Like I said, this happened a week ago. Any suggestions? Please. Thanks a lot!
Answer:
I am sending my sympathies! has it occured to you to see a doctor and have that knee x-rayed? A tiny chip of bone may have come off the knee cap and is now floating in there. There was probably bleeding inside the cavity which is now causing pressure on the nerves.
Put your leg up, higher than your heart, several times a day. Use hot compresses ( a towel soaked in hot water) several times a day. Use aspirin for pain and to thin your blood ( no more than 2 pills, four times a day.)
If you see no improvement after 3 days, off to the doctor you go!
I guess...go see a doctor?!
alternate warm and cool compresses on the injury site. This will assist in disbursing the blood that is held under the skin. Hence reduce the burising along the site:)
Well, if it's a bruise, it's normal to have it for a while, I fell on my knee once and it took about a month for the bruise to go away, try putting ice on it, it works.
your knees absorbed a lot of shock when you went down.
Maybe there is a fracture that needs attention.
Wait a couple more days to see if the pain goes away. if it doesn't see your dr. you may have bruised the muscle or pulled a muscle or something.
Based on how badly you damaged the knee, it will take time for it to heal. Knees take a while to get better because of their position in the body. They are constantly being used and they bend all the time making it difficult for brand new tissue to stay. If you dont have any tingling in your knees or shooting pain to your foot or thigh, I wouldn't worry about, because knees might tale a little while to heal. If other symptoms are present then go see your doctor because you might have damaged a nerve, broke a bone, tore a ligament. It is very unlikely that you did any of these things because the you probably would notice by now. Give it another week or so and it should get better.
You must have really nailed it... Can you walk? If so, you are fine. Take some Advil if it really is bothering you and give it some more time to heal.
Go see a doctor! you could have a minor fracture, or something else that a doctor might need to look at!
