Broken ribs from sports-- When did you resume normal activities?

I had a tiny fracture, very small, and I don't feel much pain or sensitivity at all now after 2 weeks. Just a little sensitivity if I lie on my back or stretch my arms high up. For those of you who had recovered from broken ribs, when were you able to start training and playing your sport again?
Answer:
Took me six weeks.
I believe that it takes months to heal from a broken rib ~ at least 6-8 weeks ~ Be very careful doing activities and dont go off skateboarding yet ~ its too soon ~ Best of luck ~ Listen to your body ~
Too many variables to give you a specific time range. Depends on your age and even genetics, type of activity you want to perform. If you cant get a answer from your doctor a good rule of thumb is that your body knows best. If you still have sensitivity then avoid dangerous or potentially dangerous activities.
broken ribs take a few weeks to heal and you gotta be VERY
careful dont do any thing that would put a strain on them and
risk breaking them again .
I broke my right eight rib around November '05. Around March '06 I finally got it checked out and x-rayed. By May '06, the callous had formed and healing begun. By May '07, the healing was complete, though it still gives me trouble from time to time, particularly after excessive strain, or on particularly cold days.Mind you, my experience is very much not indicative of the norm, so I certainly wouldn't base your expectations on my answer! Something would have to be very wrong with you for it to take as long as mine did!
It took me abt a month to recover from a cracked rib just to return to working like i used to consult your doctor or a sports medicine nurse they will set u strait.
