Brain Tumors?

My mother died of a brain tumor and lately (well for six months now) I have been getting bad headaches and migraines which the doctor just gives me pills for...could I have a tumor?
Answer:
Tumors can be passed down. Just to make sure I would go and tell the doctor specifically to check and make sure that you dont have it. Better safe then sorry. Also it could be your mind just playing tricks, maybe you are worried that you will possibly get a brain tumor so every pain that is in your head to you is seen as a tumor. Or one develpoing.. My grandmother had a brain tumor and it was removed successfully.. Here are some symptoms of brain tumors..The most common symptoms include headaches, which can be most severe in the morning; nausea or vomiting, which can be most severe in the morning; seizures or convulsions; difficulty thinking, speaking, or finding words; personality changes; weakness or paralysis in one part or one side of the body; loss of balance; vision changes; confusion and disorientation; and memory loss. Different parts of the brain control different functions, so symptoms will vary depending on the tumor鈥檚 location. While these are the most common symptoms of a brain tumor, they can also indicate other medical problems. If you are having any of these symptoms, it is important to see your doctor and get a definitive diagnosis. I wish you the best =]Good Luck

you should tell the doctor of your thesis and be sure to explain the pain thoroughly. make sure he understands your mother's death too.
i dunno darling
the best way for you to find out if you do have one is to see your doctor again and ask for a head/ brain scan. in australia its called a CT SCAN/ MRI
dont be too worried though i do you know how you feel... 3 years ago my mum had a lump in her brain like a tumor and it burst and she is now brain dead in a nursing home. i sometimes have really bad migraines and have anxiety attacks thinking that i have one too, but but doctor told me not to stress too much as it could make thing worse and not to smoke or drink even tho sometimes i really feel i need to, to help me cope with my mum and all.
if you are worried go see your doc and explain the situation with your mum and see what he can do to help
My mother also had a brain tumor, it ruptured, but she was lucky and it was not malignant. She never got headaches from it and it was quite large. However, tell your Dr. about her history and get a CT scan to relieve your worries. I get used to get migraines and now take a nightly preventative pill. No migranes in 9 years. Good luck.
