Can stress make u physically ill?? Prefer doctors or experienced people to answer?

I ask because I've been sick for maybe 6 months (like really dizzy/tired (sleeping 15 hrs sometimes a day and falling asleep anytime i sit down), headaches, diareah and cramps (especially after eatting) also bad muscle aches.. When I get like that It feels JUST like my period and it hurts so bad... some foods seem to trigger more than others but its not any type specifically. If I only eat fresh veggies/fruits/whole grains I dont get as sick. My doctor said nothing is wrong! I know ive been stressed out bad, everyday for like 2+ years...could that be causing all that?
Answer:
Stress can definitely contribute to the symptoms you have described. Aches %26 pains and bowel disturbances have a direct influence from your emotional states.Stress releases your "fight-and-flight" hormones which can trigger of a variety of symptoms in different parts of your body. Stress can also result in lack of sleep, which, understandably, lead to daytime somnolence. One way of checking if stress is your culprit is to try stress-reduction or relaxation exercises. These are simple and can be tried in the comfort of your own home. Also cut down on your nicotene and caffeine intake, that should help as well.If your symptoms continue, see your doctor again...pester them!
stress can make you physically and emotionally sick the emotional sickness can lead to the physical sickness you should see someone sounds to me that you may be battleing depresstion
Yes, stress can cause physical symptoms. I get severe heartburn/ acid reflux, enough to need prescription medication, during periods of prolonged stressful situations. If your doctor says that nothing is physically wrong, then try seeing a professional counselor. Counsellors are trained to help "normal" people (defined as not diagnosed with a mental illness that should be treated by a psychiatrist or psychologist) through difficult times in their lives. Many counsellors are trained to help people learn how to manage stress and mitigate it where possible.
stress can do some really crazy things to our system. Yes, all the symptoms you named, could be related to stress. Or not.
I'd check with another doc for a second opinion. Insisst on some simple lab work. Then, if no other causes are found, start walking for 30 minutes every morning or evening. Force yourself!! excercise has been found to be the number one way to relieve stress (and it's good for you). Second, start eating better. Your diet plays an important role in your health. Try treating symptoms one at a time. Ibuprophen for the aches ( but don't over do it ) a hot bath to relax you.start on some benefiber to get your bowels under control. And figure out what your stressers are, and work to eleviate them. Get a hobby that you enjoy, whether it's reading, jogging, swimming, horseback riding, cars, whatever. Just do SOMETHING!! for yourself.
Good luck
yes stress can do these things to you and i could be the case..but it sounds alot like what i have been going through the last year and a half. i get dizzy, lightheaded, sick, cramps, tired..my doctor ran blood tests on everything; iron, glucose, b12, liver, kidneys, lungs, EVERYTHING! HAVE THEM CHEAK THESE TOO!!my specialist said depression! they palm it off to easily and you need to see a different doctor! im seeing a new one and i have had a ct scan and heart monitor. my tests are yet to come back but we think i miss a heart beat sometimes! plz get it cheaked out plz!!
