Can my girlfriend fly with cracked ribs?

She lives in England, but is moving over here to Indiana, but cracked her ribs in a car accident a few weeks ago. She's healing up well, but I was concerned with the pressure changes on the airplane affecting her breathing or making her injuries worse. Anyone know or had any experience with this? Thanks in advance for the answers
Answer:
With a crack rib, I think she should see a doctor. I understand she is saving money, but her health is more important.
Good luck.
Sorry but I really don't know. Maybe you should call her doctor?
I would think she could just call the docs office that treated her and ask. No need to make a appointment and cost her any money.Or if it was the Er call and ask there.
i broke 3 ribs in a car accident, then flew from n.y to arizona the next day to attend college.a little uncomfortable, but not bad.ask the flight staff if an upgrade or aisle seat is possible,so u dont get wedged between 2 people.also,u can tell them u have an injury when u check in,and they will let u board first, along with other injured/handicapped people and families with babies.this will prevent her from being jostled in the aisles.tell her-go on and fly.the changes in air pressure will bother her ears-not her ribs.my ribs were broken, but i could breathe just fine on the flight.
ide check with the doctor first .i never had experience with this but i did have a passenger on board a week after a major heart operation .
check with the doctor. money is good but life is better
If it doesn't hurt when she flaps her wings she should be fine. Relly I have broken my ribs 4 times, even had one removed to make a new nose. Sneezing or coughing truly suck but if anything pressure would help. They used to give you a velcro girdle to keep pressure on them and to minimize movement but they don't give much of anything these days except the type of satire that I opened with. Happy reunion and GOD Bless.
