my sister received a "blister" in her eye about 1 hour after her boyfriend realized he had poison ivy. How concerned should she be?

If she actually did get some of the poison ivy resin in her eye it could be quite serious. She should see a doctor. At least call one of the on-call nurse hotlines or see if your local clinic can see her.

Her best bet is to ignore poison ivy itch, and take benedryl immediately.
Use aloe vera or olive oil on the itch.
She should be very concerned if she starts itching and scratching and give in to that monster poison ivy.
Tell her to ignore it, put ice on it.
