Bug repelent without DEET?

I'm pregnant, and my doctor told me to use any bug repellent that doesn't contain DEET. Does anyone have any suggestions on which one would be best, that is fairly cheap?

In the UK (and I suspect you're in the US as you say 'bug' rather than 'insect'!), there is a make called Mosigard, DEET-free and effective as well as safe. It's not expensive. Try doing an internet search - hope it's available near you or by local mail order.
