Burn Blister?

I got a blister on my hand today from a burn. It is swelled up. What should i do? pop it or leave it?
Answer:
Don't pop the blister. The fluid inside is produced by the body to promote healing and prevent inection.
Popping it will cause the healing to be delayed and can cause an infection to develop.Run the area under cold water for 10 to 15 minutes to sooth the burn and area around it. DO NOT APPLY OINTMENTS. You can apply aloe vera though. It's a natural antiseptic and sooth's burns. Cover it with a light gauze and bandage to prevent it popping.
as tempting as it may be do not pop it leave it alone
Do not pop it, it can get infected, which is way worse than any blister. Keep it covered, it will go down, or break when it is ready.
Don't pop it. It will cause an infection...you'll open up a direct line to your blood stream/open skin and you don't want to risk that! Let it go down naturally. You can cover it lightly with a light gauze and run it under cold water to help with pain.

Bunion surgery? Have you had it? Please share...?

I'm considering bunion surgery. If you've had it, please answer:
Was it successful?
How bad did it hurt?
How did you have to be off from work/school?
Did your insurance cover it?
Can you do things now that you couldn't before (like wear heels)?
Anything else you want to share...thanks!
Answer:
I just had bunion surgery on one foot a little over a month ago. The surgery itself didn't hurt, but I was completely out for it. I was out of work for for a few days - pretty much laying on a couch in and out of sleep (painkillers were needed) for 3 or 4 days. But after a nice long weekend, I was able to work from home for a week (desk job) and then went back at the office a week later. I've been in a big boot for 6 weeks, and go back to the doctor today for another set of x-rays, and HOPEFULLY I will no longer have to wear the boot. Your recovery time, amount of pain..etc will depend a great deal on your age as well as the kind of surgery you have. Some simply have the bone that sticks out shaved down, others (like me) have that done, plus the big toe broken, and straightened with a screw put in, others have even more intensive surgeries. I hope that in a few months I'll be able to say that I'm completely recovered, running on the treadmill, and happy as a clam that I went through with it. I will say this: it was painful enough that if it was for cosmetic reasons alone, I probably would not do it again. I had constant pain in my foot for the last few years, so assuming this takes care of that, when it's all said and done I'll say it was worth it.Whatever you do, make sure you go to a reputable Podiatrist. I've read some horror stories online. My surgeon was great, and was recommended to me by a friend who had also had surgery performed by the same podiatrist. Remember, you have to walk on your feet for the rest of your life, so you want to take very good care of them. :)Hope that helps - and the best of luck to you.
I had it . They just numb my foot and toe and did it. It did not hurt . They gave me a big pretty blue shoe to wear and that was it. You can be put to sleep ,but i did not want to.
I haven't had it, but my mom has bunions and I feel for you, her feet are always in pain. From what I have heard, it's not 100% guaranteed that they won't return, even if you have surgery. My aunt has had it, and she does wear heels, but she always has, she loves them and doesn't care how much her feet hurt lol but...she does still have problems with her feet.I don't know how much you've looked into it, but make sure you get all the details before you do go ahead and get the surgery :) Good luck!
I've had it on one foot, and am considering it on the other now.
Yes, it was successful. It's hard to describe how much it hurt, since different people have different pain levels. When I had mine, they put in a pin, which was annoying but not painful. I only missed a few days of work, and then was in a funny looking little shoe/boot deal for about 3-4 weeks. I couldn't run, or walk long distances, for about 4 months.
My insurance covered it, but I was in the military at the time, so. they cover everything.
I wear heels again - but for the first year or so I had to be very conscious of how the shoe fit, since the scar area was super sensitive.
For me, the surgery lessened the discomfort of the bunions, so the temporary inconveniences (the boot, no running, etc) were worth it in the long run.Good luck!
Nope, but if you have to have it, I hope it goes smoothly! =]

Bumps On My Head?

Ok when i get these little scab type things i pick them off then there will be a huge bump on my head for a day or more. What is this thanx for your help
Answer:
ingrown hair?
i know this sounds weird but i do the same thing. i used to have chicken pox and i picked them off. many ppl have a habit of this its not bad tho but i stopped because its a irritation. you might also do it because you are tired thats what i do but then i relize im doing it and stop try using some expensive shampoo and conditioner but only use it every 2 days

Bump on my head???!!1?

ive had a bump on my head for 1 month or loonger i relised it a mmonth ago it also hurts wen i touch it what could it be i dont no were i got it from
Answer:
It could be either a pimple or an ingrown hair. Try putting a warm wet washcloth on it to see if it will "come to a head" and burst on it's own. It also may be a piece of dandruff that is too thick and has made a sore. If it's that you might try a dandruff shampoo.
It's probably a ingrown hair, get in the mirror and pull the hair out of the bump with a tweezer and it should feel better.

Bump on my eye?

i have a bump right beneath my lower eyelashes. it just came like half an hour ago and i don't know what it is. it doesn't hurt or anything but it's really noticeable. any ideas?
Answer:
I would say it is either an ingrown eyelash or a sty. I wouldn't worry about it unless it starts to hurt or if it gets any bigger.
mosquito bite
U better go to the doctor NOW it could be an affection
Mosquito, flea or spider bite..or... a girls worst enemy...a ZIT, if its a zit, it will be painful, don't pop it. If it's a bite, leave it alone and it should go away in the next day or two. If it's not a zit and stays persistent or gets worse, i would go to the doctor, your eyes are nothin to mess with. Good luck!!
I'ts nothing to worry about. I had that before too. I just put some cream on it and left it alone. It could just be a injury or pimple or you could be breaking out. lol! Well good luck!
-Talinka 鈾?
It probably is a style or a blocked tear duct. Check this website!
It could be a stye, not trying to rhyme with eye. My sister has them quite a bit. They don't seem to be harmful, but very annoying when you can see them in your peripheral vision.
if it doesn't go away or gets bigger or doesn't end up becoming a pimple go to a doc.
i had a "bump" appear on the top of my eye lid a few years ago I thought it was a pimple (I'd didn't buy my normal make up for sensitive skin) well as the weeks/ months went on it got bigger BUT never turned into a pimple, it was getting so big that it was making my eye lid close no matter how hard i was trying to keep it open
i went to a doctor and it ended up being a Cyst, they had to surgically remove it - which really freaked me out cuz i can't stand nothing coming at my eyes, specially needles and knives but i got it removed and i haven't had one since (and it wasn't cancer they made sure to check :-)
it's probably just a stye. I've had it before. just go to your local Walgreen's and I'm pretty sure you can pick up stye medication. and it'll go away soon enough.
It's a styhttp://www.emedicinehealth.com/sty/artic...
If you do confirm that it is a sty, the best thing for it is holding a hot steamy clean towel over your face for as long as you can stand it in the morning and before you go to bed. I had one for 3 months one time and this is what finally made the blasted thing go away!
Antibiotics, medicine, etc, didn't work for me. Try this method first!
you probably have a sty. It's not a big deal. a little painful and quite annoying tho. Try a HOT washcloth as often as you can. Also if you go to the drugstore there is an ointment you can get. I don't recall the name but it has the word STYE in it. lol. Here check out this website for more info.http://www.visionweb.com/content/consume...
T__T I have a stye at the moment.
mine's not too noticeable though...
it's probably just a stye.

Bump on a Bone - pls help me!?

why is it that when you bump a bone against something hard, a bump grows on that spot?? i dont know what the term is in english, sorry, but i'll describe it as best as i can:
for eg, when you bump your head, a bump grows. now does that also happen on other bones (apart from the head). cos yesterday i fell from my bike and hit my tibia on a sidewalk. when i arrived home i realised i had a bump on the tibia bulging outwards, and i felt pain on the surrounding area. also, the area turned sightly yellow (not much).
when i arrived home i put some ice on my leg and rested it for maybe half an hour.today the bump is still there and the surrounding area still a little painful if i touch it. but the yellow colour is gone.should i worry or this is nothing??i never had broken bones before and dont know anyone who had, so i cant check if i broke something.ps note that i found no difficulty riding the bike back home (about 5 mins ride) and walking and running.
Answer:
i have broken both bones and dislocated it all at the same time
a skating inccedent
and the yellow is the bruise developing
don't worry about it
get worried if it still hurt a week from now :)
yes and i also smashed my shin once jumping onto a football table (fuzzball) if u like
and it swelled up like 10 fold and bled alot but i had not problem skating home
i belive it was the adrenaline(u americans call it something else i think)
so it doenst hit home for a good 5 10 mins
dont worry Be happy :)Mr IP
I found an article about your question on the answer search engine.
The link is in my source.
When you hit that spot, blood vessels burst, causing swelling around that spot.
If you hit a bone hard enough, it will react in the same way that it would react if you had broken it; that is, it will start laying down new bone over the area.
Most of the time, when people break bones they have an instictive feeling that the bone is broken, Trust me, if you had broken the bone, you would know it.

Bulimia?

i almost went two weeks without binging and purging but today i ruined that.i am so effing angry with myself are there any ppl out there with eating disorders who know what i'm going through that could give me some words of encouragement to NOT do this again?!?! this is not one of those dumb joke things.i'm serious and i'm freaking out and just.... this SUCKSplz no mean comments.....and plz no "just tell somebody you trust" - i dont have a very good relationship with my parents. for all i know my dad would just go, "well get over it" and i dont wanna put this on my friends or anybody....they dont need that
Answer:
You are truely a beautiful person inside and out i know this just because you dont want to put the stress of your problem on the people around you...1 day at a time all i can say is try very hard talk to people look in your local phone book for a help line.%26 please talk to someone face to face about this
i used to be bulimic, and what i would do after i stopped was some crunches after i ate. Also, i know it sounds realllly nasty but i would think of the acid from my puke and picture it burning my esophagas and tell myself i don't wanna die. Sounds stupid, but it worked for me. You don't need to do that to be beautiful. I promise. Stay away from scales and eat healthier.Popcorn is an awesome snack with not many calories. Only 170 in the whole bagggg. Yummy! I don't know you, but i care. I promise. If you ever want to talk, email me sweets. Im usually on. Take care, you'll be okay. Take it one day at a time.
I had the same problem when I was 17. I couldn't stop getting sick after I ate and it was hurting my heart and I had trouble breathing. It is very dangerous to keep doing that to your body. I prayed very hard and God helped me stop. It takes a commitment to yourself or to someone you think highly of to stop. I didn't think enough of myself to stop for me. I hope that you get it under control before something bad happens to you health wise. You may need outside help if you can't stop.
Ok, first you going two weeks without binging or purging is a plus. You should give yourself some credit for being able to acheive that. This disorder did not become a problem for you overnight and you won't be able to just make it disappear overnight.
I haven't dealt with bulimia, but I have bordered on the edge of anorexia and still struggle with it. I get angry with myself a lot because I feel that if I don't eat then I have accomplished some sort of goal...I don't know it's just always been like that for me. I won't eat for a week hardly and then I just get so hungry that I'll binge on just food in general and end up feeling guilty over it. Of course, the next day I go back to my normal "eat as less as possible" frame of mind.
Like you, I have tried to stop the cycle, but I have to say that my periods of eating are getting longer in length and your periods of not binging and purging will do the same. Just hang in there and keep posting questions on here if it helps you to let some of that frustration out.
I'm sorry you don't have supportive parents you can rely on. I know these are not the best words of encouragement but you own your body, you choose what happens to it. The next time you feel like this let your mind take over and tell yourself you cant do this, its destroying my body and I wont let this happen, I will not do this to myself! I think you need someone you can talk about it to though. You have to have 1 or 2 best friends that you could confide in. If I had a really good friend that had this problem and they didn't confide in me about it I would feel bad as I would have wanted to be a support system. Don't think your going to put a weight on your friends shoulders by talking to them about this, that's what best friends are for.
