Can their be symptoms from family deaf?

Answer:
Do you mean can you have symptoms of deafness from a family history of deafness. If you do yes. It is very likely that you could be hard of hearing, or deaf in one ear from a family history of deafness.
If you mean can deafness be passed down from family member to family member the answer is yes. My husband's father is deaf in one ear and so is my husband and his nephew. It skipped his sister's family all together.
There are many forms of genetic problems that have deafness as major symptom. So yes it can be hereditary.

Can sun poisoning occur days later?

If someone got a really bad sunburn three days ago, and is now shaking and getting the chills, could that be sun poisioning, or is it something different?
Answer:
That's about the time frame when I started experiencing sun poisoning. My upper back was sunburned, and it started itching like none other out of nowhere, for 2 days in a row, right around 4 in the afternoon. It was so bad that I had to put ice on it to numb it so I couldn't feel it. After those 2 days, I never had any problems again.So... my answer is yes.
more and likely sun poisoning.the bigger problem will be down the road, say 10 - 20 years all that sun you get now will take the toll on your body later...you'll be in the doctors office having the liasons frozen, cut or even have to have surgery...I know, I've had all three done several times.right now ...the doctor considered me a threat as to I have skin cancer...Not to be outside most of the day...sucks...I'm an outdoor type of person...plus I have 5.5 acres of grass to cut...can't do it a night...have fun and stay safe
cold water is the best first aid when you burn yourself - 20 minutes under the tap is ideal. NEVER ice or vinegar or milk or butter or green tea or mustard or toothpaste or sunscreen or semen or vaseline or tomatoes or vanilla extract or yogurt or sour cream or egg white or lavender oil or cocoa butter or salt or tea bags or potato or shaving cream or olive oil or baking soda or banana peel or petroleum jelly or whipped cream or avocado or bacon grease or corn starch or tumeric or lemon juice or curd or pickle juice - not until the skin is fully healed!alcohol might help with the pain but it is a serious risk as it will dehydrate you - so don't drink any. ibuprofen or aspirin will help but larger burns are often accompanied by stomach ulcers, so tylenol/panadol is best for pain if you are gonna tough it out. drink plenty of water or energy drinks that don't have caffeine (gatorade) i would advise that you cover the burnt area with white soft paraffin (white petroleum) or aqueous cream bp. (check the links below and see if you can find a local equivalent). wash the burn and reapply every 4-6 hours - cover with cling wrap if you wish to cover with clothes - this will stop your clothes getting covered with paraffin and maintains the burn.cling wrap alone is ok if you can't get hold of any paraffin. it also acts as a protective artificial skin - helping retain moisture and protect from further damage and pain. cling wrap is cheap and clean off the roll. in Australia ambulances often use this when someone has been burnt. - please note that cling wrap isn't always practical, like on your face.the paraffin imitates the natural oils, creating a seal stopping water leaving the body and reduces pain by protecting sensitised nerves. both of these factors improve healing - good stuff stays in, bad stays out - that is one job of healthy skin. aloe is good coz it remoisturises but that moisture can be quickly lost as the skin can't contain fluids. so put aloe on, and then the paraffin on over the top. if there is broken skin leave out the aloe - just paraffin.http://www.doorone.com.au/xgs-aqueous_cr...http://www.pharmacyonline.com.au/david-c...http://www.cvs.com/cvsapp/cvs/gateway/de...email if you still have questions - send photos feedingthedogcustard@hotmail.c...finally if you are really worried go to a hospital that has a burns unit or plastic surgeons. serious sunburn i.e. blisters (and all other burns) should be seen by a burns trained doctor or nurse.

Can stress make u physically ill?? Prefer doctors or experienced people to answer?

I ask because I've been sick for maybe 6 months (like really dizzy/tired (sleeping 15 hrs sometimes a day and falling asleep anytime i sit down), headaches, diareah and cramps (especially after eatting) also bad muscle aches.. When I get like that It feels JUST like my period and it hurts so bad... some foods seem to trigger more than others but its not any type specifically. If I only eat fresh veggies/fruits/whole grains I dont get as sick. My doctor said nothing is wrong! I know ive been stressed out bad, everyday for like 2+ years...could that be causing all that?
Answer:
Stress can definitely contribute to the symptoms you have described. Aches %26 pains and bowel disturbances have a direct influence from your emotional states.Stress releases your "fight-and-flight" hormones which can trigger of a variety of symptoms in different parts of your body. Stress can also result in lack of sleep, which, understandably, lead to daytime somnolence. One way of checking if stress is your culprit is to try stress-reduction or relaxation exercises. These are simple and can be tried in the comfort of your own home. Also cut down on your nicotene and caffeine intake, that should help as well.If your symptoms continue, see your doctor again...pester them!
stress can make you physically and emotionally sick the emotional sickness can lead to the physical sickness you should see someone sounds to me that you may be battleing depresstion
Yes, stress can cause physical symptoms. I get severe heartburn/ acid reflux, enough to need prescription medication, during periods of prolonged stressful situations. If your doctor says that nothing is physically wrong, then try seeing a professional counselor. Counsellors are trained to help "normal" people (defined as not diagnosed with a mental illness that should be treated by a psychiatrist or psychologist) through difficult times in their lives. Many counsellors are trained to help people learn how to manage stress and mitigate it where possible.
stress can do some really crazy things to our system. Yes, all the symptoms you named, could be related to stress. Or not.
I'd check with another doc for a second opinion. Insisst on some simple lab work. Then, if no other causes are found, start walking for 30 minutes every morning or evening. Force yourself!! excercise has been found to be the number one way to relieve stress (and it's good for you). Second, start eating better. Your diet plays an important role in your health. Try treating symptoms one at a time. Ibuprophen for the aches ( but don't over do it ) a hot bath to relax you.start on some benefiber to get your bowels under control. And figure out what your stressers are, and work to eleviate them. Get a hobby that you enjoy, whether it's reading, jogging, swimming, horseback riding, cars, whatever. Just do SOMETHING!! for yourself.
Good luck
yes stress can do these things to you and i could be the case..but it sounds alot like what i have been going through the last year and a half. i get dizzy, lightheaded, sick, cramps, tired..my doctor ran blood tests on everything; iron, glucose, b12, liver, kidneys, lungs, EVERYTHING! HAVE THEM CHEAK THESE TOO!!my specialist said depression! they palm it off to easily and you need to see a different doctor! im seeing a new one and i have had a ct scan and heart monitor. my tests are yet to come back but we think i miss a heart beat sometimes! plz get it cheaked out plz!!

Can stress give you tension aches in back of neck?

have been having this achy feeling in my head...what can it be? it's like a pressure
Answer:
Yes, that's a very common reaction to stress.
It's really amazing what stress can do to your body. That achy feeling is probably related to stress. I get headaches body ache and just plain old sick. Finding a way to relieve stress will be really helpful.I sometimes do yoga or just some deep breathing exercises. Exercise does wonders as well.
It sure can. In fact, when my mother starts to get a tension headache- or a migraine triggered by stress- I have to start by rubbing her feet and working up to more or less push the pain out- for lack of a better way to describe it. And I have to spend a lot of time relaxing her shoulders, neck, and scalp.
Stress is a culprit in causes of various aliments, pain and migrain, back ache, nausea, loss or gain of weight, hormone upsets to name but a few.
Yes stress can most certainly be the cause of the ache in the back of the neck, as can posture, lack of water intake, and going in front of the computer for long periods without a break.
I would recommend you seek alternative help from either a doctor to state wheather it is most likely caused from one of the above before seeing what can be done in alleviating this discomfort.
Stress has a way of affecting our lives. It would create symptoms like headache, pain in the neck and in the back. But stress may not be the only cause of such pain. There are a number of diseases or health disorders that may be causing the pain (such as fibromyalgia, tension headache, back injury due to bad posture, etc.). It is best that you consult your doctor for this if the pain persists.

Can someone's voice become more coarse because of yelling?

I hate to yell.Last week I had a strong argument with my mother and I so infuriated, that I yelled as loudly as I could for an instant. Now, my voice is coarse.
It hurt me the day after, but while it doesn't hurt anymore, it is really coarse. Will it stay like this?Does yelling damage your voice?
Answer:
YES !! It can most definitely hurt your voice, but the good news is your voice will return to its normal self if u do not continue to scream.I do believe one can do permanent damage if continuous shouting were to take place.I am sure u have heard of singers who take great pains to take care of their voices.Over time some peoples voices can change by smoking and perhaps shouting, among other things. However doesnt God work in mysterious ways, that is what u get for yelling at Mom-maybe next time u feel angry...
haha itll go back to normal =)
I have had that happen myself. It will usually get better over time. If it does not, have your doctor check your throat to see that there is nothing serious going on. In the meantime, drink plenty of fluids which will help keep your throat moist.

Can someone with a torn cartalige in the knee ever run again?

I tore the cartalige in my knee 6 months ago and I still can not go down stairs or run.
Answer:
i sure hope so
you need to have surgery to repare it then rehab/pt to get you back up to speed.
Yes you can. Eventually it should heal or it may require surgery, and you should be able to run again.
possibly with meds an tylnol and a special $300 knee brace happened to my gramps thars what he did
yup once your fully rehabilitated you can run again. Recovery time is usually one to two years and the physical therapist will likely require you to use a special brace to use during exercise. Warning: don't overexert yourself! Your knee will never be able to reach the potential it had before your injury and is markedly more delicate so don't be planning on a lot of full tackle football once you do recover.

Can someone tell me what this bite is from?

my sister got a bite on her thumb while gardening and shesays it looks like a black dot with white all around it. she didnt get a look at the bug that bit her but wants to know what it is any ideas?
Answer:
It could have been one of many insect or bug bites. The source below might provide some information to help you diagnose the type of bite.healthy-skincare.com/insect-bi...
sounds like a spider bite. get it checked out. you dont want infection.
it could be anything..I go for a spider bite
nope but id gogle it
mite b poisonous
more than likely some kind of spider. almost anything garden related is spider/snake related.
a deadly bite from a black widow spider. go to the hospital! RAPIDO!
spider bites tend to be white with puss with a black dot in the middle
Sounds like the deadly Bingbalow
it is most likely a spider bite. watch it.. if it starts to turn red, that means the toxin is spreading... taking benedryl should help reduce the swelling... but it is a good idea to have a doc take a look at it. if it is a venemous spider bite, she can get very very sick.
most likely a spider bite. get it looked at, it could be serious.
look here:http://www.badspiderbites.com/
I agree with the other answers. A bite or a sting. The black center is most likely a stinger left in her skin which will continue to leak venom. It could be a bee or spider of some sort. Put Cortaid on it and watch for continued signs of swelling. If there are any other symptoms like difficulty breathing or rapid heart rate, call 911.
i dont know but what i do know is that you're sis needs 2 go to a doctor ASAP!! iwish u and ur sis lots of luck!! :)
im a doctor myself id have to say it could be a insect or possibly a black widow if so get it checked out
This sounds like this is clearly the bite of the elusive devilian spindle spider. It lays in wait in cool damp places and attacks what ever comes close enough to be attacked or whoever is unlucky enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. The symptoms are a black dot with a characteristic white patch surrounding it. Their is usually desensitization and anastasia's affecting the nervous system. The victim demonstrates diploplia and bradycadia initially then anaphalatic shock ensues. Typically the anus swells uncontrollable until sitting becomes impossible and the victims teeth begin to taste of sulfur until they drop out neatly one by one. Typically the bite is not fatal but getting a date later in life becomes nearly impossible. It sounds like that definitely or it could just be nothing...
possible a spider. keep it clean w/ rubbing alchol.
hiya whiskey i have too agree with the others i think it maybe a spider bite if it is a poison spider yes get her too emergency as quickliy as u can and have the doc take a very close look at it he may have some sort of toxin case that can take the bite away or he might have too treat it very carefully so do get her too a local hospital very quickly ok and thanks

Can someone tell me the signs that I am getting pink eye? Besides waking up with it?

My husband has pink eye and has had it since sunday. We are not in the same bed or room for much time since he got it, and I want to make sure that I dont have it. Anyone know the initial signs of pink eye besides waking up with crust on your eye? Also how long from the time that you get pink eye will symtoms show up?-Thanks
Answer:
a few days befor,it will be red .befor it turns red it feels bruise an it itches.
waking up and your eye is completely swollen shut with mucus.
Your eye gets swollen, itchy, dry, and red. Sometimes it is even a bit painful. Fortunately, pink eye doesn't last that long. (A week at most, I have only had it for three days). Make sure he applies a warm towel over his eyes with light pressure. Also, taking Benedryl helps clear it up in a few days. Towels should be washed and sheets because it is contagious. Good luck.

Can someone tell me if someone having pain in left side of body?

Answer:
I could if you finish the question.
I got it on the right - what's that about. LOL
Can you be more specific? Which area, organ, part or limbs ? Left side is from your head to toe. How does it pain, dull, or spasmodic? From any external injury, sprain, muscular, ...?

Can someone tell me about my bruise?

so on my wrist i have a bruise just notice it about 1hour ago um i had blood taken from my wrist on wed so could that be why its bruise ? im panicking abit am i dying
Answer:
It's probably from the blood being drawn. You're not dying (from that). Put some ice on it. . . . you'll be fine.
lol.. no your not dying... the bruising is normal.. so give it time to heal and quite worring...
That's probably what it's from. Many people have bruises after getting their blood taken.I doubt you're dying.Keep ice on it, and call your doctor just to double check, if you're still really worried.
I can tell you it is from the blood taken, and that you will be ok,
but you see, I am a Vet.

Can someone please explain this to me - Undocumented Aliens qualify for medical services in Texas?

"The Texas Department of Health and Human Services (HHSC) administers several programs which provide medical care for."Read #4 (under 'Introduction' on their website -- link below) and tell me if I'm understanding this right. Are illegal immigrants really receiving this? Or am I reading it wrong?
http://www.hhsc.state.tx.us/programs/tex...
Answer:
Unfortuantely thats exactally the way it is. The whole thing just makes me sick. I feel that not only should illegals be denied any and all assistance programs, but they should all be deported and permenantly disqualified from applying for American citizenship.
A good place to start is hospitals. Any illegal who presents themselves for treatment should be detained and deported by the Immigration Officers who would be stationed at every hospital. That includes pregnant illegals and their newborn children, trust me, no mother will leave her new baby behind .
However I still believe that anyone who wants to be here and goes through the legal process should be welcomed. But one strike and their are out forever!
They must do it right the first time or get used to Mexico.
probably. according to the school paperwork my son gets each year, their children are also entitled to free school breakfasts and lunches.
plus parents like myself provide them with their school supplies because the school requires each student bring 5 boxes of crayons, 8 bottles of glue, 6 folders (etc.) on the first day of school. And to "not put our child's name on any of the supplies because we "share" in this school"
all bull crap.
ETA: Sassy, it's the language "immersion" program. They start off the year with the teachers and students speaking 100% spanish and end the year with something like 40/60 English/Spanish. They are doing it at the primary school in our area. Encouraging parents of non-spanish speaking children to participate in it as young as Kindergarden! (which goes against the TEKS that states language programs aren't to start till 3/4th grade)They also say the Pledge in Spanish (after saying it in English) didn't tell the parents about it, when we found out and told our son not to say it in Spanish, he got in trouble for staying silent! When we spoke out against it our son was "selected" to attend another school in the district.
We are seriously considering private instruction for him.
Your not reading it wrong at all.
I myself try to get on my-child but did not qualify.
That's why I have to work a full time job. If it wasn't the help from my family my check would go directly to day care.
We need to tell our congressmen that enough is enough.
You're reading it right and it really disgusts me.
You read it right dear.
You had heard about the young woman who brought her baby to the hospital because the baby had a fever of 103 degrees - the hospital refused the baby any care. The young mother had HMO, and she was required to take her baby across town for treatment. Half way there, her baby died. The fever spiked. I believe they said to 106 degrees.
Would this have happened had she and her baby been here illegally.
Please don't ignore your rights. If you do, you may soon find out that you'll have no rights at all.
I heard that TX schools are now requiring all students to half their days classes taught in English, the other half WILL be taught in Spanish.
Odd, because before, students (and their parents) had to learn English. Oh! Wait.. they came here legally, to become United States citizens. They didn't come here illegally.
What part of illegal do some people NOT understand.
Yes, you read it right and it's not just Texas. There is also WIC and other programs they are allowed to access. We are paying for this...taxpayers and legal immigrants.
Another Bush policy I imagine. His "leave no illegal invader behind. American Taxpayers have it covered so it's all good". You know that Bush policy.

Can someone Help!?

Hi this might sound really silly but I have a lump not massive one but it is under the skin on my knee, I know for certain that i have not bumped my knee to cause a lump %26 it does not hurt. This has only been noticed within about a week. Could it be anything serious I do not want to seem paranoid? Never heard of serious lumps in the knee but am worrying a little.
Answer:
go see your doctor if you're worried so much. No, I don't think it's a biggie, but set up an appointment with him/her anyway.
It could be a cyst, which are usually nothing to worry about.Have it checked out by your doctor to be on the safe side.Good luck
A.D.
sounds like a cyst go to the doctors and get it checked out
it could be a nobule, or cyst, see your doctor for pain reliefe and put your mind to rest
Any lumps should be investigated by the medical profession. Go see your GP and get your mind put at rest.

Can someone help me with my eye?

Last night my eye felt like it got something in it, so i put a cool cloth on it. And it went back to normal. But then my other eye felt like this now and it bothered me so bad and i rubbed it alot, and it got watery and sore. Then when i woke up it wasnt all the way open and it is really swollen. It looks horrible. what can i do about my eye to get it back to normal? How long will it take? If i put a cold cloth on it and take a nap will it be better? Plzzz help!!!
Answer:
Sounds like an allergic reaction...a doctor would be the one to determine this of course.Instead of the COLD compresses I would suggest using Hot or Warm compresses.
I had my first "Sty" a couple of weeks ago and after checking around the internet, followed suggestions to apply a HOT compress frequently during the day...in about a day or two it was gone.btw...these are your EYES...don't mess with taking any chances that something seriously could be wrong. If you feel whatever you have is beyond the normal allergic reaction, get yourself to an Emergency Clinic or doctor right away!
It's best to see a doctor who can give you a real diagnosis and treatment.
You have irritated it and possibly caused some kind of damage...can't say having not seen your eye. You need to put ice in the cloth and if the swelling doesn't go down in an hour or so you may have to see a doctor. Don't wait too long if the swelling doesn't go down after a couple of hours of using cold cold compresses. You might want to see one anyway...what you describe could be symptoms of something that will require treatment.
Urgent Care!
you need to stop what you are doing and go to your doctor.Somethings forien that gets into the eye is un-
detectable.Example: I had a piece of plastic(clear)in my eye
that i couldn't see in the mirror.I had to go to my doctor and let him figure it out.
It sounds like you have an allergy to something. My sister had this problem for years, one eye, or both would just swell up all of a sudden and sometimes so badly she could barely see out of them. It is very embarassing, but after a while of cold compresses, they would go away. Finally she went to a doctor and discovered that she has an allergy to something, and sure enough, she would only get them when she would drink milk or have ice cream... so she is allergic to milk. Perhaps you are also allergic to something. It could be food, pollen, or even your makeup. Seeing a doctor would definately be your best bet. If this is not an allergy, your doctor can diagnose this problem properly, and if it is an allergy, your doctor can help you try to figure out what it is, or if you would like, take a blood sample, test it, and tell you what you are allergic to. If this is the same issue my sister has had, it will go away on its own in no less than a day (the less you touch it or put things on it which can irritate your very delicate skin, the quicker it will go away), but for saftey reason, I would go to the doctor regardless! Good luck and take care!
You probably have pink eye. every pink eye is differant, so go to your doctor to get the right eye drops. Belive me, when i got pink eye, i put in some store brand pink-eye "cure" drops and it made them worse. Go to your doctor.1. DO NOT PICK AT IT
2 DO NOT TOUCH YOUR EYE THEN TOCH THE OTHER EYE
3 GO TO YOUR DOCTOR
4 PUT EYE DOPS IN AS PERSCRIBED, NO LESS NO MORE
5 FEEL BETTER : )
Since it's both eyes, it probably has nothing to do with something being in your eyes. It's a lot more likely that you have some sort of infection. You can try the compresses for the swelling and maybe a little saline eyewash if you still think that something's in it, but only do this till you can get to an eyedoctor. It's not very expensive to go to an eye doctor for this sort of thing usually, especially if you have insurance. If you don't want to take anyone on here for their word, call an eye doctor, give them your symptoms, ask them what to do. Most likely they will tell you to come right in. If they happen to schedule an appointment for later in the day, or the next day, consider switching doctors. And if you're still wanting to go to this particular one, make sure to ask what you should be doing in the meantime for your eyes. Take some benadryl too. It won't hurt you if it's not an allergic reaction, as long as you've taken it before and you know how your body reacts to it. If you know your body is ok with it, then take a dose and wait to see if the swelling seems to be affected by it. But still go to see an eye doctor. Some eye doctor's can even tell you if it's an allergy and prescribe something for it...

Can someone help me please?

Answer:
You may have trapped nerve or may have damage
that needs looking at by a doctor, you must also
confide your trouble to our mum now.
Taking lots of pain killers can and will do damage to
internal organs such as the liver so tell your mum about it now
and don't be scared cause it can soon be put right.
When we are in pain we all want the same thing:
STOP THE PAIN!
But, you must realize that we have nerve receptors that tell us we are in pain for a reason:
SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG!
Tell your mom to take you to the doc.

Can Smoking Printer Paper hurt you?

so just for fun me and a friend put Crystal light inside of rolled printer paper and smoked it. so can the printer paper or the crystal light hurt us ( more than smoking already does?)
Answer:
LOLYou and your friend need to seriously find someone with some weed. Or at the very least get some salvia, it's cheap and readily available over ebay.I can't imagine that paper is good for you, but it isn't exactly going to make you drop and start convulsing on the floor either. Paper is around every cigarette and joint and has yet to be the cause of anyone's cancer, it's the plant inside the paper that counts. As for crystal light I have no idea, I have never heard of anyone smoking it. Did it do anything for you? I'm curious. You are talking about the drink mix right?
Come on, what are you gonna do next, spark up some pixie stix? That's just silly.
hahaha what?? don't do it again its not healthy
hmm sounds lemony delicious. i'm sure the crystal light isn't that good, or the paper since it's bleached, but you're probably fine.
lol...omg to funny... Printer Paper huh... well i cant see that it would do you any good thats for sure.. my addvice to you would have to be stop smoking printer paper... omg i cant believe that you asked that question..
